I took the ‘still’ out of still life! 

I began the 'Not so Still' series from direct observation of a still life arrangement, creating multiple sketches and playing with various compositions. I stretched the boundaries of realism by deconstructing it, moving it towards the abstract with awkward shapes, expressive mark making and color layering. This was a fun and energetic series to work on!
